Advanced Emergency Medical Technology (AEMT), Certificate

The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician course addresses information and techniques currently considered to be the responsibilities of an AEMT according to National Standard DOT Curriculum.  The program consists of didactic (lecture) instruction, practical skill training, clinical observation and training, and Field Internship observation and training.  The course is one semester in length.

Prospective students must hold a current EMT certification to enroll into the AEMT course and students are selected on a competitive basis. Students must complete the AEMT course with a grade of C or better as define by the Coffeyville Community College-EMS Education handbook in order to sit for the AEMT certification exam.  A total of 8 college credits are awarded for successful completion of the AEMT course.
