A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all types of automobiles. Includes instruction in brake systems, electrical systems, engine performance, engine repair, suspension and steering, automatic and manual transmissions and drive trains, and heating and air condition systems.
To complete the Associate in Applied Science Degree, general education requirements must be taken from the list approved by the CCC General Education Committee (see college catalog). The Automotive Service Technology credit hours and the general education credit hours must total at least 66 credit hours in fields outlined in the catalog. The Automotive Service Program AAS Degree requires a minimum of 18 credit hours of general education coursework.
