Medical Assistants are multi-skilled professionals dedicated to assisting in patient care management. This healthcare professional performs administrative and clinical duties and may manage emergency situations, facilities, and/or personnel. Medical assistants work in physicians’ offices, clinics, hospitals and other medical facilities under the supervision of a physician.
To complete the Associate in Applied Science Degree, general education requirements must be taken from the list approved by the CCC General Education Committee (see college catalog). The Medical Assistant credit hours and the general education credit hours must total at least 64 credit hours in fields outlined in the catalog. The Medical Assistant Program AAS Degree requires a minimum of 15 credit hours of general education coursework.
