The Emergency Medical Technology-Paramedic (EMT-Paramedic) program addresses information and techniques currently considered to be the responsibilities of an EMT-Paramedic according to National Standard DOT Curriculum. The program consists of didactic (lecture) instruction, practical skill training, clinical observation and training, and Field Internship observation and training. The program is 18 months in length.

Prospective students must hold a current EMT certification to apply to the program and students are selected on a competitive basis. Students must complete an Associate degree to be eligible to participate in the National Exams as required by the Kansas Board of EMS. In the event a student possesses a completed Associate Degree, verified by transcript review, they may take this Paramedic Certificate Program. This would be the only instance where a student may take the certificate option instead of the Paramedic AAS degree program. All program and institutional degree requirements must be met prior to testing for the National Exams.
