A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to lay out, cut, fabricate, erect, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures, using hand and power tools. Includes instruction in technical mathematics, framing, construction materials and selection, job estimating, blueprint reading, foundations and roughing-in, finish carpentry techniques, and applicable codes and standards.
To complete the Associate in Applied Science Degree, general education requirements must be taken from the list approved by the CCC General Education Committee (see college catalog). The Construction Technology credit hours and the general education credit hours must total at least 68 credit hours in fields outlined in the catalog. The Construction Program AAS Degree requires a minimum of 15 credit hours of general education coursework.
